Amberlee reed The solar system

The sun The sun is named the Latin word sol from the ancient romans. The sun also has a temperature of 9,940 degrees Fahrenheit. The suns powerful gravity attracts everything else in the solar system towards it.

mercury Mercury was named after the roman messenger god because of how quickly it orbits around the sun. Mercury is 36 million miles away from the sun . The temperature on mercury is 801 degrees fahrenheit There are only two space crafts that have made a landing on the planet. Fahrenheit.

Venus Venus is named after the roman goddess of love and beauty. It is also 67 million miles away from the sun Venus is the brightest planet in the solar system 864 degrees Fahrenheit.

earth Earths temperature is 59 degrease Fahrenheit. Earth is 93 million miles away from the sun. The earth is an English /German name witch means the ground . Earth is also the only known planet to have consistent bodies of water on its surface.

Mars Mars is -67 degrees Fahrenheit . It is also 141 million miles away from the sun. Mars was nicknamed the red planet named after the god of war. Mars is also home to the largest mountain in the solar system.

Jupiter Jupitar is483 million miles away from the sun .Its temperature is -234 degrees Fahrenheit . It is the largest planet so it is named after the king of gods in roman mythology. Jupitar is also the first gas planet.

Saturn Saturn's temperature is -270 degrees Fahrenheit. It is also 890 million miles away from the sun. It was named after the roman god of time it’s the planet with the slowest orbit around the sun. Saturn is considered to be a beautiful planet and is surrounded by rings witch may be composed of ice.

Uranus Uranus is -371 degrees Fahrenheit . It is 1.79 billion miles away from the sun . It is also named after the ancient greek god of the sky. Uranus is the smallest of the gas giants. But much larger than earth.

Neptune Neptune is -353 degrees fahrenheit.it is also 2.8 billion miles away from the sun. Neptune is named after the roman god of the sea. It is the 8th planet from the sun making it the most distant in the solar system.

Moon The moon on earth is 253 degrees Fahrenheit its 8,900 miles away from the earth. Its also one of the largest natural satellites its also the largest relative to the size of the planets it orbits. The moon is earths only satellite.

Moons on other planets Mercury and Venus have no moons. Earth has one moon named Luna. Mars has two moons named phobos and demies. There are 67 moons on Jupiter in order of size the first four are Ganymede Calisto lo and Europa. Saturn has 62 moons the first four are titan rhea lapetus and Dione. Uranus has 27 moons the first four are titania Oberon Umbriel and Ariel. Neptune has 14 moons the first four are triton proteus Nereid and Larissa.

Black hole An interesting fact is that the closer you get to a black hole thee slower time runs . Material that gets to close too close to a black hole gets sucked in and can never escape. Black holes were first proposed to exist in the 18th century but remained a mathematical curiosity until the first candidate black hole was found in 1964.
