Jupiter Quinton Alicia Cody

What does Jupiter look like? A giant gas planet its atmosphere is made up of mostly hydrogen gas and helium gas like the sun. the planets surface is covered in thick red, brown, yellow, and white clouds.

Have we explored Jupiter? Eight spacecrafts have explored Jupiter: Pioneer 10 and 11 Voyager 1 and 2 Galileo Cassini Ulysses And New Horizons missions

What features have been found on the planet? Jupiter has no mountains but has active volcanoes it has no ice but the cloud tops have water vapor. Yes, jupiter has a thick atmosphere as all giant gas planets do. Jupiter has no rings and is 43,441 miles round.

what is the average temperature? Average temperature is -234 degrees F˚ (-145 degrees C˚) Core is estimated to be 35,700 degrees C˚

How many moons does Jupiter have? Jupiter has 49 moons that are officialy named and 14 unnamed moons.

How long is the orbit? Jupiter orbits around the sun every 11.86 earth years, or once every 4,330.6 earth days.

Is Jupiter named after a Roman or Greek god? Jupiter is named after the king of the gods in roman mythology. Jupiter is named after Zeus.

How long is the spin/ rotation? Jupiter has the shortest days of all planets. The length of each day is 9 hours and 56 minutes. Speed of its rotation is 28,273 mph

How far away is Jupiter from the sun? Jupiter is 4.95 astronomical units away from the sun.

What are the diameter, mass, and the density of Jupiter? Jupiter's diameter is 139,822 kilometers Jupiter's mass is 318 times bigger than earths or 1.9 times 10^27 Jupiter has 1.326 g/mc3

Other fact about the planet: Winds speed can range from 192mph to 400+mph Jupiter has a unique color feature The upper atmosphere of Jupiter is divided into cloud belts and zones. The rapid rotation flattens the planet slightly giving it an oblate shape.
