PLOT Plot is a literary device that describes a series of events in a story. The Plot is the foundation in a story because it introduces the characters and setting and everything happens in a sequential order. Also, Plot focuses on the important parts in a story, book, or even movie.

Exposition Exposition is an element of the Plot. Exposition comes first on the Plot and it introduces the setting, characters and background in the story, novel, or even movie. Also, the exposition is essential in a story because it allows the reader to understand what is going on.

Rising Action Rising Action comes second in the Plot. Rising action is when we learn about the characters and who they are and the decisions they make. The rising action leads into the climax and the conflict of the story.

Climax Climax comes third on the plot. Climax is the conflict that the character or protagonist in the story is going through and has to overcome a certain situation. Climax is the problem but it leads into the falling action.

Falling Action Falling action comes fourth in the Plot. Falling Action is when the conflict and issue is coming to an end, where the characters have a plan to in mind to solve the problem. Falling action leading into the resolution of the story.

Resolution The resolution is the fifth and final element on the Plot. The resolution is the happy ending or the tragic ending in a story, novel, or even a movie. The resolution makes the story and leaves the audience happy because either the hero and good guys win, or there is a happily ever after.
