Numeracy Review Integers: When Adding and Subtracting Integers: Always eliminate double signs. When Multiplying and Dividing Integers: Two Positives or two Negatives give a Positive result. One Positive and one Negative give a Negative result. The Acronym for the order is BEDMAS All calculations must be done from left to right. Do the calculations within the brackets (parenthesis). When you have more than one set of brackets, do the inner brackets first. Exponents (or radicals) must be done next. Then, do multiplications/divisions in the order they appear from left to right. Then, do additions/subtractions in the order they appear from left to right. Numeracy Review © 2016 E. Choi – MPM2D - All Rights Reserved
