First Year Live-on requirement All first-year students required to live on campus Exceptions Live with a parent in Athens or adjacent counties 21 before the first day of classes Compelling circumstances
Emotional support animals Register with DRC (or Staff/Faculty Relations) DRC verifies need and notifies HAO HAO sends paperwork to individual to complete HAO notifies hall staff of ESA
Room Change process
Making a request Log on to The Dawg House Join up to 3 “Wait Lists” Priority given on when student joins the list Can be deprioritized based on any criteria (specific room, roommate) Roommate should also make a request
Regular Priority Emergency Choose an adventure Student submits request on TheDawgHouse Desired roommate also has to submit request Offers sent out Monday and Tuesday Moves happen Thursday-Sunday Priority When mediation isn’t working and concerned of bigger problems to come Student is moved during normal process, but extra weight is given to student’s request Emergency When an AD has decided that a student cannot stay in the room any longer Could be facilities or behavioral reasons Moves occur outside of typical room change timeline
How a room change looks for staff Monday/Tuesday Student is offered a room change Wednesday All room change offers have to be accepted by 10am List of changes sent to AC/RHDs Thursday-Sunday Room changes occur Monday RICs should be sent to HAO How a room change looks for staff
Students have A whole new reason to look forward to the weekend It begins! Student goes to front desk of new community to pick up new key DA issues the key in StarRez Student is given new RIC Card access is enabled beginning Thurs. Student moves belongings The student has until Sunday at 5pm to complete the move Checking Out Student schedules a checkout time with their current RA. The RA checks the student out of old room and into new room Following Week Student will see any updated room rates appear on student account (if different rate) Students have A whole new reason to look forward to the weekend
