Employment Contracts

Full time Employment contract In general, paying job that involves 35 or more (usually 40) hours of work during a week. pay rates (including sick pay, maternity, paternity and adoption leave and pay) pension opportunities and benefits holidays training and career development selection for promotion and transfer, or for redundancy opportunities for career breaks What jobs would fit this contract?

Part Time Employment contract A part-time worker is someone who works fewer hours than a full-time worker. There is no specific number of hours that makes someone full or part-time, but a full-time worker will usually work 35 hours or more a week. Part-time workers should get the same treatment for: pay rates (including sick pay, maternity, paternity and adoption leave and pay) pension opportunities and benefits holidays training and career development selection for promotion and transfer, or for redundancy opportunities for career breaks

Freelance Contract Working on a contract basis for a variety of companies, as opposed to working as an employee for a single company. Freelancers are often considered to be self-employed, and have the freedom to pick and choose their projects and companies they would like to be associated with. A common profession for freelancing is writing; a writer then has the ability to submit their work to many different places, without being tied to any one company in particular.

Self Employed A person is self-employed if they run their business for themselves and take responsibility for its success or failure. Self-employed workers aren’t paid through PAYE, and they don’t have the employment rights and responsibilities of employees. Someone can be both employed and self-employed at the same time, eg if they work for an employer during the day and run their own business in the evenings.

Self Employed cont… Employment law doesn’t cover self-employed people in most cases because they are their own boss. However, if a person is self-employed: they still have protection for their health and safety and, in some cases, protection against discrimination their rights and responsibilities are set out by the terms of the contract they have with their client
