Learning Targets: Today, I will be able to: login and create an ELD Portfolio using two school sites: my Googledrive and my Canvas. change my password to a safe and secure password I can remember for only my Googledrive account. Use English (L1) and my home Language (L2) interchangeably to explain sequencing, steps for creating portfolios, ask questions, respond to questions and translate key terms. Evidence of my learning: My spoken responses in (L1) or (L2) to questions asked (may be brief) and my (L1) to (L2) translations as appropriate when asked or called upon to or translate /interpret and summarize briefly. My ELD Portfolio Folder in Googledrive with 4 subfolders(reading, writing, listening, and speaking) and my Canvas ELD Portfolio named “my complete name”(i.e., “Lisa Burgess ELD Portfolio”) and publically shared.

Creating a School e-Portfolio folder in Googledrive Open Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Open the Googledrive account page(search) Log-in with my ###@sweetwaterschools.net account and my birthdate. Change password from birthdate to a safe, secure memorable password Write down or take a picture of my school account and secret password written down, email the picture to myself at my PERSONAL email, delete the picture from my phone(keep things safe!).
What if I Already Have A gmail Account!? Do NOT open your gmail account. That is a personal account. You will use your Googledrive Account for SCHOOL—it is NOT Private—it is to be public so your classmates and teachers can share, create, and view classwork and projects. Keep private accounts private and separate from school accounts. School accounts may be viewed by teachers, classmates, the principal, the district teachers or a tester(the person who gives you the CELDT test) and your parents—all want to see how you are doing in ELD and you want to show off your hard work and great projects, right? Remember, keep school accounts appropriate for school.
