Hundreds, if not thousands, of baseball players – major leaguers, minor leaguers, semi-pro and amateurs – have honored our country by serving in the military during peace time and during war time – WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Post-Vietnam. We thank each of them for their service. We thank all service men and women (regardless of their background) for allowing us to live free in the greatest country in the history of the world. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. We regret that we cannot recognize each person individually. Thirty-four future Hall of Famers (including two umpires) served during WWII.
