TITLE I Title I Program in Forney ISD Student Participation Title I is a federally funded program that delivers resources to help schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families and provide a high-quality education that will enable all children to meet the state's student performance standards. Title I, Part A supports schools in implementing either a school-wide program or a targeted assistance program. Currently 3 campuses in Forney ISD are identified as School wide; Blackburn, Rhea, and Smith Elementary Schools. Student Participation Forney ISD offers School-wide Title programs at eligible campuses. The district has established additional specific criteria for supplemental support from the Title I teacher. The first priority of the Title I teachers is to provide academic support to students considered to be on Tier III of the Forney Response to Intervention process. The student’s progress in Tier II has been monitored, and the Student Support Team has recommended a referral to Tier III. If a student is on Tier II at the conclusion of a school year and fails the state assessment, they can be moved to Tier III to receive intervention from the Title I teacher at the beginning of the next school year.   Title I teachers may also provide classroom support in all subject areas, as time permits. Parent Involvement Parents of students on a Title I campus are required to complete a School-Parent Compact provided at Meet the Teacher Night. Parents are encouraged to participate in the development or revision of the Campus Parent Involvement Policy. A meeting will be held at the beginning of each school year to review these two documents and to learn about the Title I program. A translator will be provided at all Title I meetings if necessary. Parents are invited to attend educational and academic activities throughout the school year to learn how to help their students at home.
