Increasing access to midwifery-led care: University based midwifery services By Dr Lois McKellar

Addressing education requirements for continuity of care experience as well as increase placement opportunity Responding to national priorities for maternity care to provide increased access for women to different models of maternity care Creating an opportunity for the midwifery profession to harness changes in legislation and establish midwifery-led models of care. Conceptualised in 2013

Background National Maternity Services Plan Priority 1: Access Support for Midwives with access to the MBS and PBS Medicare covering antenatal services, birth in hospital/birth centre and postnatal services up to 6 weeks ANMB have developed accreditation standards or programs of study leading to endorsement for scheduled medicines for Midwives
