Laws in India for preservation of endangered species Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 Indian Forest Act, 1927 Indian Penal Code, 1960 Code of Criminal Procedure, 1974 Forest Conservation Act, 1981 Environment Protection Act, 1986 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 Arms Act, 1959 CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora),1975

Laws to protect endangered species The law strictly provides that it is punishable with imprisonment and fine if any animal is treated with cruelty or if given poisonous food, there are serious consequences attached to it. Transport any animal in any manner that will cause him or her unnecessary suffering. This includes loading cows into trucks without ramps and overcrowding the vehicle as well as tying up pigs and carrying them on cycles. All violations of Section 11 are punishable with a fine of Rs 100 and/or up to three months in jail. .It is illegal to kill homeless animals. Citizens may only report what they perceive as a nuisance to the municipal authorities. The municipality is required to maintain an animal pound for animals Sections 428 and 429 of the Indian Penal Code make it illegal to maim or cause injury to any animal. Stray animals may not be used for research. The Rules for Experimental Animals, as formulated by the Committee for the Control and Supervision of Experimental Animals, state that only animals bred for the purpose of research by institutes registered by the Committee may be used for experimentation (although, of course, such animals suffer and feel pain just as much as strays or any other animal).

HELP Endangered species

What can be done to help them? Stop hunting animals for fun - Stop all forms of cruelty towards animals and the environment Take stringent measures to punish the poachers and illegal traders in bio products Plant new saplings as much as you can to preserve flora Stop cutting down of trees. Find measures to protect forests, use less paper, find non-forest areas for human dwelling. Preserve and maintain wild life sanctuaries and zoos Follow to a more vegetarian diet. Do not kill rare animals for food

HELP Endangered species The Endangered Species have not become Extinct yet… There is still time To Protect them… To Save them Let us ACT NOW!
