Writing the DBQ: A Seven-Step Process Step 1: Read the question, making sure you understand all parts of the question.
Step 2: Skim read each document - pull out relevant facts and annotate them - (we will use the scaffolding questions for this first one)
Step 5: CAREFULLY read and analyze all documents. Circle information that catches your attention. Annotate your outside information on the documents.
Step 6: Put everything together. Make final adjustments to your thesis. Organize information to defend your thesis. Acknowledge and prepare to destroy counter-arguments.
