How to Apply: (Application for scholarship is embedded in Dual Enrollment registration. There are no paper applications.) Students will go to www.monroecc.edu/go/dualenroll to register for a Dual Enrollment course. Only the names of students who answer YES to the question “Do you want to apply for the Inspiring Everyday Scholarship”, will be forwarded to schools for verification. Students who register for STEM and Optics will be asked if they want to apply for scholarship. If yes, they will answer 4 additional scholarship questions. Click to advance slide

Important Scholarship Information Dual Enrollment courses are graded according to college standards and your final MCC grade may be different than your final high school grade. For grading questions contact your high school teacher. The MCC grade you receive will be recorded on an official MCC transcript. This course and grade becomes part of your permanent college record. Strive for A and B grades. Grades of C-, D, D-, F and W can negatively affect a student later when applying for college admission and financial aid. In general a W grade is the least academically harmful. You may withdraw from a Dual Enrollment course before the withdrawal deadline if you believe you are not going to pass the course. Your transcript will indicate a “W” for courses from which you withdraw. Withdrawal deadlines are set by MCC and you can talk to your teacher or visit www.monroecc.edu/go/dualenroll for withdrawal deadlines and process. Click to advance slide

Important Scholarship Information (continued) There presently is no limit on the number of Inspiring Every Day scholarships that MCC will award to eligible students. Only courses offered to high school students at the high school are eligible for these scholarships. Courses taken by high school students at an MCC campus are excluded. Scholarships will be issued at the NYS resident rate only. Therefore students who reside outside of Monroe County will need to obtain a certificate of residency from their county treasurer. The certificate must be submitted to MCC by the date specified. Students who do not complete this process will be responsible to pay the non-resident portion of the bill since the scholarship does not cover the out of county tuition charge. Scholarship awards cannot exceed the amount of the student bill. Prior balances are excluded. The academic standards and the administrative requirements for dual enrollment remain unchanged.
