COMMUNICATION ENG. PROF. A.M.ALLAM TUT2 V-I-Z Along Transmission line LECTURES

Problem1 The incident voltage wave on a certain lossless transmission line for which Z0 = 50Ω and vph =2x108 m/s is V + (z, t) = 200cos(ωt -πz) v. a) Find ω b) Find I + (z, t) The section of line for which z > 0 is replaced by a load ZL = 50 + j30Ω at z = 0. Find c) Γ d) V (z) e) Vs at z = −2.2 m Problem2 A 300 ohm transmission line is 0.8 m long and is terminated with a short circuit. The line is operating in air with a wavelength of 0.3 m and is lossless. If the input voltage amplitude is 10V, what is the maximum voltage amplitude at any point on the line?

Problem3 In the shown figure, get the average power absorbed by each resistor if IS = 0.5 RS = 100Ω RL = 25Ω Problem4 Derive an expression for the standing wave ratio and the input impedance in the case of a T.L. of length d is terminated with a load ZL.
