BX6000 Series Binary Array Printer Present the Next Generation in High Performance Variable Data Printing For The Graphics Industry BX6000 Series Binary Array Printer

Binary Array Printing A form of continuous inkjet printing that uses multiple nozzles (typically 256) in a single head, which provides: Increased print height (2 inches in a head) Greater resolution (up to 256 dpi) Ability to print graphics At maximized throughput speeds Multiple nozzles cover the intended print area. Drops that are not needed are deflected into a gutter With only one nozzle, CIJ must deflect the drop to the intended spot on the substrate, which limits height and resolution

BX6000 Series Binary Array Printer Print on almost any substrate Handles line speeds ≈ 1000 fpm Outstanding Print Quality Intuitive operator interface Flexible configuration to meet a broad range of applications Easy to set-up and maintain

Print on Almost Any Substrate Print on paper – porous or coated, plastic, film or metal Variety of fast drying solvent based inks: MEK Ethanol Acetone/Ethanol blend Range of colors Black Green Blue Red Specialty inks Bar Codes Plastic Cards

Outstanding Print Quality Resolution up to 128 x 256 dpi Widest variety of fonts and type style sizes that can be used (e.g., match printing on other areas of substrate). Convert any True Type font Bolder images (up to 3 drops per jet) without affecting printing speed

Flexible Configuration Dual headed system in a single cabinet provides up to 4” of print area (can be adjacent or on different parts of the piece such as an address and an indicia) Printheads operate at any angle with the 360° spectrum All popular standard bar codes (Postnet, Planet Code, 39, etc.) as well as 2D bar codes such as data matrix Combined with Cheshire-brand paper transport for an optimized system

Intuitive Operator Interface Image Pro software provides a WYSIWYG format for easy and precise placement of the variable data elements Inspector Software provides a variety of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools

Simplified Use and Maintenance Historically Solvent based Binary Array printers have required a highly conscientious operation and maintenance routine to ensure optimal performance BX6000 series offers all the same functionality but with far more robust operation than previous printers in this class This means more time spent printing – and making money for you

What makes the BX6000 Easy to Use New ink system design enables computer controlled start-up with minimal* operator intervention typically enables printing from a cold start in under 10 minute Shutdown typically in under 5 minutes without any additional operator cleaning (minimizing potential start-up problems from improper shut down) 5µ filtration system and use of pure flush on Jets On/Off dramatically reduces the possibility of having to clean a skewed jet Single piece valve manifold eliminates fluid migrating to the head after shutdown Should a skew occur, automated backflush system can clear the skew in minutes Single piece manifold and 5 micron final filter * The BX6300 can be started without any operator intervention, but for optimal performance Vidoejet recommends a brief cleaning of the gutter prior to production print

Phasing of the Electrical Charge The point at which an ink drop receives a charge must be optimized in order to: Provide the best print quality Properly deflect unused drops in to the gutter (improper deflection can cause gutter build up which can lead to a printer error) This phasing of the charge to the break-off is set at start-up, but the optimal setting can vary over time, especially if there are fluctuations in temperature or humidity. Usually needs to be reset every two hours Charging of the drop at break-off

Auto-Phasing BX6000 Series conducts automatic phasing between every print command. Jets are phased in sets up 4. As many sets as possible are done between prints, until all 256 are completed, then the process restarts at the beginning – typically takes 2 minutes to phase the entire bank of jets Modulation – the amount of voltage applied to a drop – is also continuously adjusted This means you get: Consistent print quality AND Maximized Throughput No need to stop the machine to manually conduct phasing Reduced unscheduled downtime due to ink build up caused by improper drop deflection

Ink Refill System Permanent fluids reservoir enables on-the-fly refill, and eliminates wasted fluids that occur with removable containers Also keeps operators from making contact with fluid system tubing

Improved Solvent Containment Cabinet ventilation system condenses vapors back into fluids and returns them into the fluid system: Significantly minimizes emissions from the cabinet Reduces make-up consumption by up to 20%

BX6000 Series – An Inkjet Printer no Commercial Printer, Direct Mail House or Specialty Printer Can Afford To Live Without Prints on nearly any substrate means you can take on a wide variety of jobs Up to 967 fpm without the need for additional drying maximizes throughput and print revenue Up to 4” of print out a single cabinet enables affordable expanded print capabilities Easy to operator and maintain – keeps the printer up and running and frees your operator and technicians for other tasks
