WALKTHROUGH OF THE CONVOCATION CEREMONY

Annex On Convocation day, arrive at the Marriot Center dressed in your cap and gown. You will check in at the Southeast corner of the building. Please keep in mind that you will not have a place to leave your belongings as you move through the ceremony, so only bring items that can fit in your pocket. Graduation Walkthrough | 1

In the Southeast corner of the Marriot Center, you will see signs indicating the different departments housed in our college. Graduation Walkthrough | 2

After you find your department, obtain a name card from the representative standing near the sign. Fill out both sides of the card and keep it with you throughout the program. Graduation Walkthrough | 3

Annex Remain with your department. You do not need to line up in a specific order within your department. The processional will begin and you will march into the Marriot center with your department through the specified tunnels. * You can now know what side you will enter and exit based on the color of your icon and line. Annex Note: The east entrance tunnel has approximately 70 stairs. Please keep that in mind and plan accordingly. The purple and green lines will be entering and exiting using these stairs. Graduation Walkthrough | 5

Follow your department leader to the designated seating section Follow your department leader to the designated seating section. Walk to the end of the row and remain standing until all graduates have arrived at their seats – Then you will all sit down together. *For a general idea of where you will be sitting, locate your icon on the seating map. When it is time to present diplomas, ushers will lead you, one row at a time, to the east tunnels. As you approach the photographer, pause for a picture and then proceed to hand your name card to the reader. Wait at the “X” for your name to be read, then walk across the stage. You will then receive your diploma cover from the department representative and take a second photograph. Graduation Walkthrough | 7

After your picture is taken, you will proceed off the stage, past the family picture area. This area is designated for guests to take your picture as you walk by. You will continue walking, in line, back to your seat. This may not be the same seat as before, so we encourage you to plan accordingly and leave all personal belongings with family members beforehand. Graduation Walkthrough | 8

After the Ceremony, an usher will lead the front and back rows to the exit. Subsequent rows will follow, exiting the Marriot Center last. Graduation Walkthrough | 9
