Growth Why it Matters In 2014 there were three major funders who supported summer programming: Weinberg Foundation, Casey Foundation, and Family League. These three organizations came together and founded the summer funding collaborative. Some highlights of the partnership are: Summer 2015 - the collaborative committed $1.2 million in funding, which supported 77 organizations and served over 10,000 youth Fall 2015 – 7 new funders join the Collaborative (10 total) Summer 2016 – the collaborative committed $3.2 million in funding, which supported 94 organizations and served almost 13,000 youth Now – We recently added two new members to the collaborative: Under Armor and Care First. We will also use a community reviewer system to guide funding decisions Benefits for summer enrichment providers Central application process – apply once More equitable access to summer funding Opportunities for provider networking and partnership Technical Assistance & Professional Development opportunities Systems Building – Data Collection Understand landscape (# and quality of seats) through standardized data with the goal of increasing # of quality seats Coordinate with other summer stakeholders
