Guidelines for Using Aids Prepare visual aids well in advance Keep visual aids simple Make sure visual aids are large enough Use a limited amount of text e.g. 6x6 rule or 8x8 rule Use fonts and color effectively Use images and animation strategically

Guidelines for Presenting Aids Display where listeners can see them Avoid passing visual aids around the room Display visual aids only while discussing them Explain them clearly and concisely Talk to your audience, not the visual aid Practice speech using visual aid Remember, this is a formal presentation: do not try to mimic lecture slides
