Effects of the Flipped Classroom OBJECTIVES: To investigate: The implications of the use of flipped classroom teaching strategy on: Preservice teachers’ learning outcomes Preservice teachers’ self-efficacy Preservice teachers’ perception

PARTICIPANTS 60 preservice teachers (39 undergraduates, 21 graduates) Students non-science majors Students from four different majors: Bachelor of professional studies Early childhood education Middle-level education Secondary education

RESEARCH QUESTIONS Will the flipped teaching strategy improve pre-service teachers’ learning outcomes compared to lectures-based teaching strategy in a technology integration and language arts course? Will the flipped teaching strategy improve pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy in a technology integration and language arts course? What is the perception of pre-service teachers regarding the use of flipped teaching strategy in a technology integration and language arts course?

RESULTS First question: “Will the flipped teaching strategy improve preservice teachers’ learning outcomes compared to lectures-based teaching strategy in a technology integration course?” A paired-samples t-test conducted to compare students mean test scores in the flipped and lecture-based The analysis show that there were significant differences in the students’ mean test scores in flipped teaching method compared to lecture-based

RESULTS Second question: Will the flipped teaching strategy improve preservice teachers’ self-efficacy in a technology integration and language arts course? A paired-samples t-test conducted The analysis show that there were significant differences in the students’ self-efficacy mean scores after flipped teaching strategy compared to no lecture teaching strategy

RESULTS Second question: What is the perception of pre-service teachers regarding the use of flipped teaching strategy in a technology integration and language arts course? Collect data from 60 students through answering 12 questions to assess their perception on the flipped teaching strategy The results were agree 452 (62.9%), disagree 104 (14.5%) and neither agree or disagree were 163 (22.7%)
