We are a church school. We have found out how this makes us special. Our values, our behaviour and our learning are shaped by the teaching of Jesus.

Values Our main values are: Diligence: 1 Corinthians 15.58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of your Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. Kindness Colossians 3.12 Clothe yourselves in compassion, kindness and humility. Tolerance: Ephesians 4.2 Show your love by being tolerant with one another Honesty: Proverbs 22.26 An honest answer is a sign of true friendship. Respect: 1Peter 2.17 Respect everyone and love your fellow believers

Our Church Great Somerford is in the Woodbridge Benefice in Bristol Diocese. Our church is St Peter and St Paul, Great Somerford Our Vicar is Rev'd Stephen Wilkinson We visit the church for special services. We are part of The Diocese of Bristol Academy Trust, DBAT.

Our Worship Council Every year we have a worship Council who help with worship They help the local Board members monitor worship. We tell them what helps us worship and things that could be different Lots of children are involved in helping with worship

Prayer Prayer is important to our school life. We pray together during worship, at lunch time, at other times. We have a prayer wall to share our prayers We used to have a prayer tree.

The Lord’s Prayer We use the Lord’s Prayer

Music We love having music as part of our worship. We choose songs from Come and Praise. Children put on music at the beginning and end of worship. We like doing drama as well. We enjoy Open the Book when we can help act out the story.

Reflection Area We have a space in the library where we can be quiet and think. There are Bibles and special books to help.

Our Community We help our community by raising money for charity.

Our Special Place Walter Powell helps us learn to fly like doves. We can learn in a school which cares for us and where we can care for each other. We can learn all the gifts we have and all we can do.
