Cardiac pacing Temporary transcutaneous pacing for any unstable bradyarrythmia Anterolateral or AP pads Need cardiac leads if demand mode used Don’t forget sedation and analgesia if patient has awareness!

Check DEFIBRILLATOR has pacing mode! Activate pacing mode Select demand or fixed mode Set rate 70bpm + output 1mA/kg (70mA) Press “Start pacing” Check your defib has a pacing function Must have cardiac leads for “sensing” in demand mode.

Check for electrical capture. by 10mA until electrical capture Confirm mechanical capture: Add 10-15mA safety margin Signs of perfusion

CHANGE TO OTHER POSITION No capture by 130mA? CHANGE TO OTHER POSITION
