Dew forms as the temperature drops to the dew point. Water droplets love to collect on surfaces or tiny particles. It is very difficult for water drop.

Anticyclones - Fog Lesson 10 Specification: Climate of the British Isles Lesson 10 Anticyclones - Fog

Advection Fog Haar fog off East coast Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco – 105 foggy days a year Advection fog near a river – horizontal movement of air over colder surface Chinese tourist spot hidden in early morning fog Salt provides an ideal hygroscopic nuclei to help form this haar fog off California

Radiation Fog Thick fog makes travelling very difficult & dangerous Pollution gets trapped under a temperature inversion producing the orange smog over LA

Summary

Temperature Inversion LA has perfect topography for Smog formation. Think about effects on health!

Bird’s nest stadium Pollution causes thick smog all over the world. Events at the Beijing Olympics were threatened with cancellation due to air quality. The government acted fast (not to be embarrassed on the world stage) – they closed factories and band cars for a period of time. Sulphur dioxide released The natural processes that help to form fog help to form smog. However smog is a human induced environmental problem caused by industry that threatens the health of millions around the world.
