MINISTRY of EDUCATION and RESEARCH (MoER) Responsible for the evaluation policy in the education sector. Collects the information and analyses it for making decisions in the educational policy. Leads and coordinates national and international cooperation in the field of external and internal evaluation.

State supervision The ministry sets up the main topics of inspection for every academic year. The inspectors of MoER and CoGo carry out the supervision. The External Evaluation Department of the MoER analyses the results and writes the annual report.
Decreasing external evaluation and increasing internal evaluation (2006) Educational institutions have to carry out the internal evaluation and present the report in three years. State guarantees the benchmarking data (EHIS) State supports the self-evaluation of the schools – advisers of the schools
Evaluation of study results National standardised tests in year 3 and 6; Basic school final examinations with harmonized questions; National examinations at the end of upper secondary school.
