CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE INTRODUCTION. “FOR AS HE THINKETH IN HIS HEART, SO IS HE” (PRO 23:7) “WHATSOEVER THY HAND FINDETH TO DO, DO IT WITH THY MIGHT; FOR THERE IS NO WORK, NOR DEVICE, NOR KNOWLEDGE, NOR WISDOM, IN THE GRAVE, WHITHER THOU GOEST.” ECC 9:10

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE EVERY RIGHT THINKING PERSON WANTS TO SUCCEED IN LIFE NO BODY WANT TO END UP A FAILURE PEOPLE DESIRES GOOD RESULT OR POSITIVE OUTCOME SUCCESS IS NOT THE RESULT OF LUCK OR CHANCE

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE SUCCESS DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN SUCCESS IS AN EFFECT FOR WHICH THERE ARE DEFINITE CAUSES e.g THE PULPIT DOES NOT JUST COME TO BE, THERE ARE CERTAIN EFFECTS WHICH CAUSED IT TO BE.

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE ANY TIME THE SAME PRINCIPLE IS APPLIED, YOU WILL GET THE SAME RESULT. SUCCESS IS NOT ACCIDENTAL.

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE RALPH MARSTON SAID: "EXCELLENCE IS NOT A SKILL. IT IS AN ATTITUDE." AND:   “DON'T LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS TO MEET YOUR PERFORMANCE. RAISE YOUR LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE TO MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. EXPECT THE BEST OF YOURSELF, AND THEN DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO MAKE IT A REALITY.”

WHAT IS ATTITUDE? ATTITUDE IS AN INWARD FEELINGS EXPRESSED BY BEHAVIOUR. THAT IS WHY AN ATTITUDE CAN BE SEEN WITHOUT A WORD BEING SAID.

WHAT IS ATTITUDE? IT IS A WAY OF RESPONDING TO OUR ENVIRONMENT THAT IS DERIVED MOSTLY FROM OUR GENERALIZATIONS ABOUT OTHERS AND THE SYSTEM. WE ADOPT AND EXPRESS A CERTAIN ATTITUDE IN ORDER TO PRESERVE OURSELVES FROM "HARM" OR TO MAINTAIN A PREFERRED PERSONAL STATUS QUO.

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE YOUR ATTITUDE SAYS A LOT ABOUT YOUR SELF-ESTEEM, judgement of self-worth SELF-ACCEPTANCE is reconciliation with self refusing to be in an antagonistic relationship with self. SELF-AFFIRMATION. saying yes to yourself! Refusing to berate yourself unnecessarily without being haughty or pompous and self-deceived

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE AT ANY GIVEN TIME YOUR ATTITUDE IS A RESULT OF AN INTERACTION BETWEEN YOUR OUTCOMES EXPECTANCIES AND YOUR EFFICACY BELIEFS. THESE TWO DETERMINE WHAT KIND OF ATTITUDE YOU EXPRESS TO WARDS OTHERS, GOALS,SYSTEM).

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE OUTCOMES EXPECTANCIES ARE EXPECTATIONS OF A SPECIFIC RESULT, WHICH INFLUENCE THE CHOICE OF ACTION TO BE TAKEN. EFFICACY BELIEFS ARE BELIEFS ABOUT YOUR CAPABILITIES TO ORGANIZE & EXECUTE COURSES REQUIRED TO PRODUCE CERTAIN RESULTS

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE THERE ARE 4 WAYS IN WHICH AN INTERACTION BETWEEN EFFICACY BELIEFS AND OUTCOMES EXPECTANCIES CAN TAKE PLACE: 1. HIGH OUTCOMES EXPECTANCIES LEAD TO AN ATTITUDE THAT SPURS YOU TO DO SOMETHING TO GET A RESULT. 2. LOW OUTCOMES EXPECTANCIES LEADS TO AVOIDING CERTAIN TASKS/ACTIONS OR CHALENGES

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE 3. HIGH EFFICACY BELIEFS LEAD TO BEING PREPARED TO TAKE ON A CHALLENGE. 4. LOW EFFICACY BELIEFS LEAD TO AN "I WON'T BE ABLE TO DO IT" ATTITUDE.

CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE ONE OF THE THINGS THAT ALLOW AN INDIVIDUAL TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL IS HIS OR HER ATTITUDE. I BELIEVE THAT SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DON'T HAVE ANY FEWER PROBLEMS THAN UNSUCCESSFUL PEOPLE; THEY JUST HAVE A DIFFERENT MINDSET IN DEALING WITH THEM.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE MAKING YOUR ATTITUDE YOUR GREATEST ASSET BEGINS WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE. ONCE THAT DECISION IS MADE, THE FOLLOWING STEPS WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE AN ATTITUDE THAT WILL BE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE-MAKER IN YOUR LIFE.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE STEP 1. EVALUATE YOUR PRESENT ATTITUDE . 2 COR 13: 5 Try your own selves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or know ye not as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless indeed ye be reprobate THERE ARE 3 STAGES OF EVALUATION THAT I HAVE FOUND TO BE VERY HELPFUL. a. IDENTIFY PROBLEM FEELINGS--WHAT ATTITUDES MAKE YOU FEEL THE MOST NEGATIVE ABOUT YOURSELF? WRITE THEM DOWN.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE b. IDENTIFY PROBLEM BEHAVIOR--WHAT ATTITUDES CAUSE YOU THE MOST PROBLEMS WHEN DEALING WITH OTHERS? WRITE THEM DOWN. c. IDENTIFY PROBLEM THINKING--WE ARE THE SUM OF OUR THOUGHTS. "AS A MAN THINKS WITHIN HIMSELF, SO HE IS." WHAT THOUGHTS CONTROL YOUR MIND? ALTHOUGH THIS IS THE FIRST STEP IN CORRECTING ATTITUDE PROBLEMS, THESE ARE NOT AS EASY TO IDENTIFY AS THE FIRST TWO.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE STEP 2. HAVE A DESIRE TO CHANGE. ROM. 7: 16-25 NO CHOICE WILL DETERMINE THE SUCCESS OF YOUR ATTITUDE CHANGE MORE THAN DESIRING TO CHANGE. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, DESIRE CAN KEEP YOU HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE STEP 3. CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE BY CHANGING YOUR THOUGHTS. PHIL 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. THAT WHICH HOLDS OUR ATTENTION DETERMINES OUR ACTIONS. WE ARE WHERE WE ARE BECAUSE OF THE DOMINATING THOUGHTS THAT OCCUPY OUR MINDS.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE WILLIAM JAMES SAID, "THE GREATEST DISCOVERY OF MY GENERATION IS THAT A HUMAN BEING CAN ALTER HIS LIFE BY ALTERING HIS ATTITUDE." We can control our feelings by learning to change one thing: the way we think

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE STEP 4. MANAGE YOUR ATTITUDE DAILY. PHIL. 2: 5 MAINTAINING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE IS EASIER THAN REGAINING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE John Wooden said, "Things turn out the best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out."

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE STEP 5. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ATTITUDE. THE FIRST RULE IN WINNING IS DON'T BEAT YOURSELF. YOUR ATTITUDE IS TOTALLY IN YOUR CONTROL.

CONCLUSION * YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE LENGTH OF YOUR LIFE--BUT YOU CAN CONTROL ITS WIDTH AND DEPTH. * YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE CONTOUR OF YOUR FACE--BUT YOU CAN CONTROL ITS EXPRESSION. * YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE WEATHER--BUT YOU CAN CONTROL THE ATMOSPHERE OF YOUR MIND
