INDOOR SKATEBOARD PARK LOGO DESIGN PROJECT CTE ONLINE Sid Llera

RESEARCH & INVESTIGATION Teacher divides students into groups of four. Using the Internet, Students will research and investigate existing skateboard park companies to analyze the elements and principles of design used to create their brand logo. Students reach a consensus on a company name for their indoor skateboard park. Using Photoshop, Students will develop, create and design an original logo concept to share and present with team members. Each group will analyze, compare and contrast each member logo: a. to reach a consensus on one logo to use b. or use a combination from each logo to create a final design. Each group will present their logo design for their selected company name and brand.

RESEARCH & INVESTIGATION Students will use GOOGLE to research and investigate current skateboard park company logos in order to brainstorm for ideas to create an original logo for a new indoor skateboard park company, potentially opening in their local community. The following are sample company logos:

BRAINSTORM AN ORIGINAL NAME Students will brainstorm ideas for their indoor skateboard company name. Students will create a logo based on the following categories: a. Selected Name b. Color Scheme c. Image(s) related to skateboarding d. Incorporate Photoshop related symbols/shapes e. Use various Photoshop effects/filters to enhance logo design

Create and label each new layer. Use the Tool Bar to create specific shapes. Decide on a specific color scheme. Choose a specific business name. Select a specific font for your business name. Use your prior knowledge of the Elements and Principles of Design to create your original logo. Use Tool Bar to create shapes. Label each layer above. Use the Foreground/Background to select color scheme.

GRAPHIC DESIGN GRADING RUBRIC The Graphic Design & Visual Arts Rubric will be used to grade your Business Logo Project. Categories include: 1. Imaginative Expression 2. Purposeful Exploration 3.
