Pronghorn “Goat Bar” Fence Modifications In April 2016, AZGFD and ADOT modified the existing fence at the bottleneck location (MP 220-222) Locations will stay in place after full fence modification occurs in 2018 In January 2017, AZGFD collared 22 pronghorn. Data will be coming in December 2017 which will be used to assess effectiveness of modifications
Recommendations Install ADOT Game Fence in Place of Type I or Type II Fence Where Feasible If possible, set back Right of Way fences when incorporating pronghorn connectivity into projects Maintenance Projects…… Unique opportunities may be present Local wildlife professionals and roadway engineers should keep in early and frequent contact about possible project ideas/concerns to achieve results on the ground
