What is it? Weeklong study visit to our nation’s capital You will be interacting with gov’t officials through workshops Ex. learn about George Washington @ the Washington Memorial Experience your gov’t & political process 1st hand Not just monuments and museums Inside look at the capital & the people that run it

Who can go? Any student who is actively enrolled at BHS No grade restrictions No age limit/ requirements Highly recommended for Jrs. & Srs. Frosh & Soph’s ok but you also have two+ more years so don’t panic if you can’t attend this year You will be interacting with other high schoolers from around the country not just those who are going on the trip with us.

What we will do? Sunday Arrive in DC/check-in to our hotel Welcome dinner National Mall Overlook (if time allows) Orientation Meet & greet with other schools

What will we do? Monday Jefferson Memorial FDR Memorial MLK Jr Memorial Smithsonian Air & Space Museum Pentagon 9/11 memorial Iwo Jima Memorial

What will we do? Tuesday US Capital visit Lunch at the National Mall War Memorials WWII, Iwo Jima, Vietnam, & Korea Lincoln Memorial Dinner at Pentagon City Mock Congress

What will we do? Wednesday Day on Capitol Hill with YOUR members of Congress Aka the people your parents voted in & who make the laws/ decisions Observe Congressional Committee Supreme Court Library of Congress Dinner in DCs historic district Evening at the theater/Washington Nationals Baseball game

What will we do? Thursday Arlington National Cemetery Georgetown National Portrait Gallery American Art Museum White House Photo-op

What will we do? Friday Breakfast Explore other sights of DC Come home National Archives Underground Mall Come home
