Presentation transcript:

Are you wondering if you should go to PROM? Are you worried that prom is going to cost you too much money? Are you worried that prom will just be an evening of standing around listening to music chosen by these people? Are you worried that you have nothing to wear, no one to do your makeup, your limo driver is out sick that day or your date might be grounded until Summertime? Let us distract you from your state standardized testing for a moment if you will allow us…

The Committee: Thanks to the hard work of your prom committee (did you know we had one?!) this will NOT be a cheap event...even though ticket prices are low. They have been working for months to Plan, Fund, Shop and Decorate In order to make this a memorable event!

The Venue: Saturday Afternoon Club https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x808447f89849f983:0xeca9960802c348f0!2m5!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i100!3m1!7e115!4s//lh4.googleusercontent.com/proxy/iaPSiXci1cXaZbGG6D8RAzF0My7ZcCC1SfGyNIecVz09P1SbnYDqcM61Ia9Z19LKNk8LFuFb1lrNAv1amrfyiWkkIOwXiSoopaMxa1HAX8-dm6JiAbjv8rdXbUpcNwCQI6UDpDXiY8zBJdc_FBvCvEdspiI-ZXwdF5MT%3Dw240-h160!5ssaturday+afternoon+club+-+Google+Search&imagekey=!1e2!2s0rvYH8UsR00AAAQvO66o3w&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiIx_TGvojNAhVMIFIKHQE9A0sQoioIfTAO

Don’t like to dance? Then come for the FOOD!!!!! Full professionally catered buffet included in the price of every ticket Taco trucks, dessert table and drinks Did we mention taco trucks? Come Hungry!!!

The Theme: A Party For The Ages Travel back through time and enjoy vintage touchs from the Roaring ‘20s, Glaourous ‘40s, Classic ‘50s, Groovy ‘60s and Retro ‘80s as you dance to modern and classic beats!

What to Wear: Rules and Ideas Dress more formally then you would for school No jeans; slacks are preferred This event does not have to be black tie School dress codes apply Dress as if you were going to hang out with Mr. B (he will be there and is the life of the party) Dress how your legal guardian would approve of Both of these prom dresses follow dress code and can be purchased at either H&M or Forever 21 for a low price. This look has a button up with slacks and suspenders. This outfit can be purchased all at H&M. Forever 21 would also have similar attire for a low price.

What to Wear: Ideas for Era Theme How to Coordinate an outfit Pick an era from history Your dress or suit can be simple but you can pick historically accurate accessories to accent A simple white dress with red lips and an up do can look very “old hollywood” Adding a fedora to a suit can give men a more classic look!

Prom King and Queen Costume Contest We will be holding a contest and awarding prizes for the best Costume. If you would like to take part: Come dressed in an outfit that reflects a specific era. Prizes will be awarded based on votes held during a fashion show at prom! We will have a field trip to Disguise the Limit and Hot Coture the Week of Prom to rent or buy Era Specific Prom outfits and accesories! See Kristen or Jonathon Wright to sign up!

Tips For Looking Like a Million Dollars For Less Than $100 Dresses and Costumes: Try Thrift and Consignment Stores for unique and original prices! TJ MAXX and Ross often have Prom dresses for less than $50 Consignment stores like Haute Couture and Skirt Chasers in Railroad Square rent dresses and Costumes! Additionally stores such as Forever 21 and H&M always have cute low price looks for sale Makeup and hair don’t have to be expensive! Trade with a friend and do each others! Go to the mall and have the make-up counters at Macy’s or Sephora give you a free makeover on the day of Prom! Many booths in the mall will curl or straighten your hair as a free trial of their products Practicing Beauticians and Beauty schools do make overs for greatly reduced costs Pivot students with a knack for hair and makeup will be giving free makeovers the day of prom at Pivot!

Events and Activities: Not JUST a Dance! Not wanting to dance? Plenty of activities ! -Watch vintage cartoons at the outdoor movie theater -Video game console: Original 1980s Nintendo -Photo Booth: Both formal and casual -DJ and dancing -Hang out with friends in themed lounge areas with games, puzzles and cards -Eat amazing food (did we mention Taco truck?) while your friends dance -

Music and Dancing: After all it is ALSO a dance Rules for music and dancing: Dancing must be school appropriate Please consider your audience when considering your dancing style! We are your academic peers and you must face us again on Monday! Any inappropriate dancing can result in removal from the prom
