DAY 11- Dr. Description’s Prescription for better writing is a Daily Dose of Writing. Take out your journals and WRITE! Edit and correct the following sentence: last week while we where on Vacation my family visited the white house in washington dc Write about this picture: What happened??? Choose to write a personal narrative about a time you did something like this or write a story about what happened to these kids. Use sensory details to describe the scene. Include at least 2 similes. Use your words to paint a picture for your reader. Purple word of the day: bitter – having a harsh, unpleasant or sour flavor. It is an adjective. Use it in a sentence.

DAY 11 –ANSWER KEY Last week while we were on vacation, my family visited the White House in Washington, DC. Share your writing. What similes did you create? It looks like they were in a paintball war and the expressions on their faces tell me that they enjoyed it. Would you like to do something like that? The paintball pelted my face and broke open dripping a bitter substance into my mouth.

DAY 12 - Dr. Description’s Prescription for better writing is a Daily Dose of Writing. Take out your journals and WRITE! Revise, edit and correct the following sentence: we never seen president obama while we were at the white house we did see some members of the secret service Watch this video clip: http://wonderopolis.org/wonder/calling-all-superheroes/ If you could choose to have one super power, what would it be? Would you rather have the ability to fly or to be invisible? Why? Explain why using FEED Purple word of the day: benefit – improve or help. It is a verb. Use it in a sentence.

Share your writing. Having the ability to fly would benefit my children, because they wouldn’t have to wait for someone to pick them up from school.

DAY 14 - Dr. Description’s Prescription for better writing is a Daily Dose of Writing. Take out your journals and WRITE! Edit and correct the following sentence: did coach roberts say that we has baseball practice on wednesday afternoon asked marcus Write about the picture. Remember to use voice and good word choice to tell this story. Use your rubrics to check yourself and revise if necessary. Purple word of the day: plead – to ask earnestly or to beg. It is a verb. Try using it in a sentence.

DAY 15- Dr. Description’s Prescription for better writing is a Daily Dose of Writing. Take out your journals and WRITE! Revise, edit and correct the following sentence: swinging on the swings at recess my freind fell off the swing and hurt him’s leg when he twisted his ankel Watch this video clip: http://wonderopolis.org/wonder/why-do-fashions-change-over-time/ Fashions change over time. Make a list of all the fashion trends you can think of from now and the past. What is one fashion trend you would never wear? Explain why you would never wear it. Purple word of the day: scarlet – a vivid red color. It is an adjective. Try using it in a sentence.

DAY 15 –ANSWER KEY Possible revision: At recess, my friend fell off the swing, twisted his ankle, and hurt his leg. Share! I really hope bell bottom pants don’t come back into fashion. My sister wore a scarlet colored dress with long black gloves to the prom last year.
