Her books: The Shadow Children series Among the Hidden: Government regulations limit families to two children each, so Luke, an illegal third-born, must live his life in secret, hidden in his family’s farmhouse. Then he joins Jen, another "shadow child," for a chance to come out into the light. Among the Impostors: In a future where the law limits a family to only two children, third-born Luke has been in hiding for the entire twelve years of his life, until he enters boarding school under an assumed name and is forced to face his fears. Among the Betrayed: Thirteen-year-old Nina is imprisoned by the Population Police, who give her the option of helping them identify illegal "third-born" children, or facing death. The Shadow Children series includes seven books. In a society that limits families to two children, any additional child must live his or her life in secret or risk imprisonment or death. These children become the “Shadow Children.”

Her books: The Shadow Children series Among the Barons: In a future world of false identities, government lies, and death threats, Luke feels drawn to the younger brother of the boy whose name Luke has taken. Among the Brave: In a society that allows families to have only two children, a group of third-borns tries to save themselves and others like them. Among the Enemy: In a society that allows families to have only two children, third child Matthias joins the Population Police to infiltrate their system.

Her books: The Shadow Children series When thirteen-year-old Luke Garner unwittingly sets off a rebellion which sweeps the country and ousts the Population Police from power, he quickly realizes that the new regime is corrupt and he may hold the only key to true freedom.

Her books: The Missing Series Found: When thirteen-year-olds Jonah and Chip, who are both adopted, learn they were discovered on a plane that appeared out of nowhere, full of babies with no adults on board, they realize that they have uncovered a mystery involving time travel and two opposing forces, each trying to repair the fabric of time. Sent: Jonah, Katherine, Chip, and Alex find themselves in 1483 at the Tower of London, and discover that Chip and Alex are Prince Edward V and Richard of Shrewsbury, imprisoned by Richard III; but trying to repair history without knowing what is supposed to happen proves challenging. Sabotaged: Thirteen-year-old Jonah, stolen from the past as an infant, teams up with his sister Katherine to help Virginia Dare, the first child born in America to English parents. The Missing series includes five books. Teenagers Jonah and Katherine find themselves traveling back in time to help kids in need.

Her books: The Missing Series Torn: Time travelers Jonah and Katherine arrive in 1611 to rescue John Hudson, the missing son of explorer Henry Hudson, but just as the mutiny on the "Discovery" is supposed to start, Jonah and Katherine's knowledge of history is tested once again and they fear that more is at stake than just one boy's life. Includes facts about Henry Hudson's explorations. Caught: The series continues with Margaret’s newest book. It has not yet been published, but be on the lookout for Book 5!
