2017 Division Academic Program Reports (DAPRS) Key Findings from 2016 academic year: A disconnect between the Academy and the Service Divisions. difficulties with cross-divisional connection and communication keeping pace with technology; delivering timely and relevant staff learning and teaching training deployment of targeted discipline specific marketing and student recruitment campaigns Challenges with entry standards, exams and AccessAbility. Mapping of learning outcomes and their assessment continues to be patchy Blended delivery continued to progress slowly (improvements with Keypath/ Blackboard Ultra) Stronger sense of actively engaged Industry Advisory Panels/Boards 2017 Division Academic Program Reports (DAPRS) The DAPR structure was aligned with CPRs providing a tool for the consolidation and presentation of analysis and planned course improvement activities in four priority areas: Entry standards Assessment and moderation Blended learning Graduate employability
In response to the previous recommendation of the Academic Board and the prioritisation of the action items, the Vice Chancellor asked the Academic Board to provide insight into the governance aspects of the DAPRs. It was noted that a presentation would be provided to the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Committee by the Directors of Academic Quality and Strategy to explain both reports in the context of the whole university.

CONFIDENTIAL - ACADEMIC BOARD NOMINATIONS – DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON APPOINTMENT At the closing time for receipt of nominations there were four nominations Main discussion based on: seniority – as the position could act in the role of the Chairperson of the Board, from time to time, there would be distinct advantages in the Deputy Chairperson having Professorial standing; strength in currency; succession planning should be a consideration; gender diversity, especially in leadership roles; and significant leadership experience
