Jerry uelsmann

Jerry uelsmann His double exposure techniques are outstanding and adds another dimension to his works. He takes two seemingly simple ideas and mashes then together to create an intricate and interesting work. What I particularly like about this picture is that the hands are seen yet unseen. You can see the outlines of the hands and slight details, but you can’t see all the details because of the overlaid photograph. The picture inside the hands creates a peaceful feeling because the pond and all the aspects of nature are so serene. Overall I feel that Uelsmann is trying to say that every person has peace in them and they can be one with nature.

Bernice abbott

Bernice abbott Although simple, being able to see every detail of the hands is powerful. I see this picture and think that this person puts their hat on every day and goes to work. But they don’t just work, they work hard at their task. The hands appear to play with age as well. The hands are of an older adult which adds a dimension to the photograph that the person has been working for a long time and is completely dedicated to their job.

Carlo bellavia

Carlo bellavia The way the water shines and the hands emerge is both simple and beautiful. There is something about this picture that just catches my eye and makes me look at all the details in the hands and then in the water around it, which have been captured perfectly with the water still rippling and glossy and the hands slightly wet. Also, this picture creates a glass half empty/half full complex because you don’t know if the person is reaching out therefore creating hope, or if the person is sinking under and hope has been lost.
