The Pioneer of the Agro Food Industry ARTENAY CEREALS The Pioneer of the Agro Food Industry In the year 2000, a small cereal bar manufacturing company found Lascom Solutions- who was at the time specializing in weapons systems repositories. Artenay Cereals was selling an increasing amount of retails private label contracts, and developed the need to have the ability to quickly respond to market specifications and provide timely quality response feedback. Artenay were also confronted with a declining margin due to private label products having a more aggressive positioning on pricing. Improved margin control became essential for the small cereal bar manufacturing company. As an SME, the cereal company had to comply with the quality standards imposed by retailers. The Challenge simply summarized: “How to develop faster, more precise, and more complex products in accordance with the specifications set by supermarkets?” Lascom decided to take the challenge and dived into the challenge at hand. They discovered a much more complex world then they had expected with schedules, disciplines, regulations- many of which resembled the fields used in aeronautics. Lascom developed for Artenay Cereals a first version of Lascom CPG with the following objectives: Short Term Develop a product centered on the repository Treat the design process (ISO 9000) Intermediate Term Automatically generate document responses of materials and specifications Exchanging data techniques Long term Having a more collaborative design method, through the product design and uniqueness of the repository. With Lascom CPG, Artenay Cereals were able to combine their new functionalities, technical improvements and updated regulations with the increasing requirements for safety, technical, qualitative, and other demands.
