Ashton Park School Sixth Form Year 11 into 12 Photography Transition Task At APS we follow the OCR GCE Art and Design (Photography) syllabus. To ensure you are ready to fully access the AS syllabus you should complete this work over the summer holidays ready to hand in on your first photography lesson. Your first project will have the title ‘Urban Landscape’. Task 1. Choose one theme from the list below; Tower blocks Bridges Modern Architecture/Churches Reflections (in water or shop windows) Stations Subways Urban parks Urban decay (Surface textures or demolished buildings) Task 2: Take 35 photographs based on your chosen theme, keep your images in and around Bristol. Refer to the attached sheet for tips on taking a good photo. Bring your photos on a USB stick or SD memory card. If you do not have access to a digital camera, use a camera phone and bring in an appropriate lead to access the photos. Task 3: Look at the photographers listed below, choose an image by one artist based on your chosen theme. Create an Artist Study (Research and analysis) using the attached sheet to help you. If you don’t understand some of the technical language, don’t worry, try and research what it means and fill in what you can. You should print this artist study onto an A4 page, if you cannot then save onto a USB stick.
