IMPORTANT: Captains and Fixtures Secretaries As captains, it is your responsibility to ensure that your club members are aware of their obligations as members of your team. That is to say that poor time management is not an acceptable excuse for not playing a fixture. All Club Sport members are expected to balance their club commitments alongside their university commitments, with neither suffering because of the other. As such, the only acceptable excuse for rearranging fixtures will be because players are unavailable due to illness or injury or some other unforeseen circumstance.

BUCScore Captains and Fixtures Secretaries This will take you to a search page, where you can select ‘Queen Mary’ and then your sport: Clicking on a specific team or competition in the right hand list, will take you through to see the relevant fixtures and results related to that team or competition.
The knockout page displays the full list of scheduled rounds within the knockout competition, as well as the leagues from which the teams have been drawn. For almost all BUCS knockout competitions there is automatic progression through the rounds, so teams can work out who they will face in the next round, should they win.

You can log in here: http://www.bucs.org.uk/bucscore/ From here you can input your team’s fixture results, search for other university contacts and also view fixtures

Match Officials Captains and Fixtures Secretaries If your sport requires referees/umpires as per BUCS Regulations, then these will need to be organised for all home fixtures. The arrangement of Match Officials is entirely your club’s responsibility. Please see the Match Officials Contact Sheet for further information on qualification requirements and contacts clubs have used in the past. Paying Match Officials Captains and Fixtures Secretaries Paying Match Officials Best practice is to pay your match officials in cash and then claim the money back. You will need to complete the Club Expenses Claim Form. You will also need to get the officials to sign a ‘Referee Invoice’, which can be downloaded from http://www.qmsu.org/clubsport/run/matches/
Team Sheets Captains and Fixtures Secretaries As per reg. 7, all BUCS teams are required to complete and have the opposition verify team sheets for each fixture. The aim of team sheets is twofold: To manage and allow enforcement of player movement between teams within the same sport in accordance with BUCS regulations (RED 6.5/6) And to ensure those taking part in BUCS competitions are eligible in accordance with institutional and BUCS requirements
Team Sheet Process Captains and Fixtures Secretaries Team sheets must be taken to every fixture and countersigned by the opposition captain and match official This completed form must then be handed in to Roxy Baker the very next day by 5pm. This can be done by: Scanning the document and sending this into su-sportsadministrator@qmul.ac.uk Taking a photo of the completed team sheet and sending this to su-sportsadministrator@qmul.ac.uk Handing in the completed form at Qmotion Reception for the attention of Roxy Baker

Captains and Fixtures Secretaries Squad Id’s All players in BUCS matches need to have their ID’s validated. Team captains need to send Roxy a single word document which contains pictures/photocopies of all their teams student ID cards for the year. Roxy will then check these ID’s to ensure they have paid membership to your club. Once all members have been checked by Roxy, they are validated to play in BUCS matches. Please ensure you take your student ID’s to matches.
BUCS Policy on Initiations Captains and Fixtures Secretaries BUCS Policy on Initiations BUCS condemns any behaviour that damages students’ health and wellbeing or adversely affects the student sporting experience. As such, both BUCS and QMSU prohibit any form of ‘initiations’. Excessive drinking within the ‘club culture’ is not to be encouraged. Any teams found to be holding initiations will be subject to both QMSU and BUCS disciplinary action.
Travel Captains and Fixtures Secretaries Requests for coaches need to be sent to Roxy no later than the Friday before the fixture if it is on a Wednesday. Coach requests for a weekend fixture must be sent in no later than the Monday before the fixture All Mile End bookings will depart from and return to Bancroft Road (just outside the Bancroft Road Teaching Rooms) All Whitechapel bookings will depart from and return to The Griff Inn.

Captains and Fixtures Secretaries Playing Under Protest REG 12.11 of BUCS Rules & Regulations state that: “If a team feels, upon arrival or during a fixture, the conditions do not adhere to those outlined in the BUCS regulations or fixture confirmation they should complete a 'Playing Under Protest’ form or equivalent as soon as the grievance is noted.” Please note: Only where a regulation has been breached should an appeal be made

Captains and Fixtures Secretaries ANSWER: No. The form must be completed as soon as the grievance is noted. As such, if you arrive at the facility and it is not fit for purpose/in line with BUCS regulations, fill in the form straight away and ensure that it is signed with the opposition. If you fail to do so, in knowledge of the breach, then you are deemed to have accepted the conditions of play and therefore cannot play under protest nor lodge an appeal. This includes if you are made aware of the breach prior to travelling to the fixture but decide to play regardless.

Captains and Fixtures Secretaries ANSWER: No. If the opposition has a grievance and asks you to sign the form, you must do so. Failure to sign may result in a misconduct charge. You will have the opportunity to state your opinion regarding the grievance on the Playing Under Protest form.

Walkovers Captains and Fixtures Secretaries A walkover occurs when a team concedes/forfeits a fixture to the other team i.e. they do not attend the fixture and hand the win to the opposition by default. A team can claim a walkover if the opposition cancels the fixture within 48 hrs. of the original fixture date, unless it was cancelled for one of the following reasons: Bad weather Ground conditions Bad light Other extenuating circumstances (force majeure) If a fixture is cancelled for one of the above reasons then this will be classed as a ‘postponed match’ and will be replayed at a later date.
Consequences of Walkovers Captains and Fixtures Secretaries Consequences of Walkovers Teams who concede walkovers will automatically have 3 points deducted and will have their overall BUCS points halved If a team concedes 2 walkovers in one season, they will be automatically withdrawn from the league. Withdrawn teams will be liable for any costs incurred. Teams who are awarded walkovers will automatically gain 3 points. Teams who cancel a fixture within 48hrs of its original date will be liable for a £100 fine to cover costs incurred through facility hire etc.
