Branding

You need to work hard –and intelligently-to help your customers identify with your games. Branding your games goes a long way toward doing that. Branding is the name, symbol, words, design, or combination of these that identifies a product, service, or company. The brand represents the company’s reputation of quality, reliability, and status in the marketplace.

Target markets often associate brands with successful celebrities … Nike is a brand associated with Tiger Woods What are some of the top-selling video game brands?

It is important to recognize that these are not only great, engaging games ,but they have a great brand effort behind them…

Importance of a Branded Image Your logo, tagline (slogan), fonts and other attributes that visually represent one’s company…it is also the ideas and emotions that these elements convey… Ten years ago if you heard the name Halo …you would think of a bright ring and angels …now the video game comes to mind… That is the power of branding!

It allows you to connect with customers… To identify your branded image, think about what genre your game falls into and the types of people ( target?) play them…what do they value? Likes and dislikes, passions, and what they respond to…

As you develop your game and you know it inside and out, you can take its key features and turn them into benefits for your customers…. What will they love the most? What makes it different than the competition or other games on the market?

What will they experience when they play your game? Describe your benefits in short bursts of text…study the phrases and this will help with your taglines… http://www.taglineguru.com/survey05.html http://www.sporcle.com/games/Nando/video_game_taglines http://www.sporcle.com/games/seriouspayne/developersbylogos http://www.sporcle.com/games/JESUPO/videogames_developer http://www.sporcle.com/games/rer2121/taglines-clickable-video-game-stuff

Your tagline will form the foundation for all of your other branding efforts…

Branding through Design Make sure your logo aligns with your branded identity for a cohesive marketing effort….when customers see your logo, they should feel whatever it is that your tagline says… EA Sports …its in the game… Think of the ideas for games and create some logo for your company and a tagline taglines …
