Surface Science Spectroscopy What Is it? Surface scientists rely on spectroscopic methods to analyze materials and chemical composition It is a vital technique in development of semiconductors, metal alloys, polymers, ceramics, glasses and inorganic compounds We will shortly be launching eSpectra - an online browser-based data analysis and visualization tool for the peer-reviewed and unique datasets contained in the AVS journal Surface Science Spectra with nearly 25 years of experimental output from major labs worldwide

Surface Science Spectroscopy What’s The Problem?

eSpectra: Surface Science Find the Data Priorities

eSpectra: Surface Science Plot and Compare the Data Priorities

eSpectra: Surface Science Early Feedback “This tool is so much better than the NIST database.” “I would use this on a daily basis.” “It is great that I can compare my results to published results!” “Amazing!” “Let me know when this is online!” “It’s good to validate old data and newly acquired data.” “That’s the dream, right, to be able to collect data and compare to the most brilliant guy who collected the [same] data last week.” Priorities

eSpectra: Surface Science What Next? We will be launching a preview version of eSpectra to delegates at the AVS Symposium in Nashville on 11/8 We hope to gain more feedback on what we have developed so far The preview will confirm users’ perception of eSpectra’s value and inform how we will bring the product to market We are looking forward to announcing launch arrangements for Q1 2017 Contact Mark Barragry for further information mbarragry@aip.org
