What does homework look like? Year 1 Home Learning Tasks Summer 1   What does homework look like?

Year 1 Home Learning Tasks Summer 1 Choose your favourite animal. Find out 10 facts.   Reflect on a special meal that you might have had with your family or friends. What are you thankful for? Find out about the artist Henri Rousseau. Create an image using his style as inspiration. Try to incorporate a ‘surprise’, hidden picture within your image. Research animals that live in hot countries. Try a new food that you have not tasted before. What do you think it will taste like? What did it taste like? Draw a picture of a nocturnal animal and an animal seen in the daytime. What do you know about these animals? What can you find out? Design a poster about ‘How to keep safe’. Carry out a survey to show peoples favourite animals. Create a pictogram to record what you have found out. Design your own playground. What would you have and why? Help your grown up at home to cook the dinner. What ingredients did you use? How did you measure the ingredients? Imagine what you would see and hear at the seaside. Find some things in your home that are taller and shorter than you. You could find a way to measure them.

Year 2 Home Learning Tasks Summer 1 Design Can you design and make a model of a Tudor House?   Map Create a map of London in 1666 showing the location of the River Thames, Pudding Lane bakery and where the fire spread. Poem Write and illustrate a poem about ‘The Great Fire of London’. Games Take part in a sports activity for 15 minutes. Describe the changes that happen to your body and how it makes you feel. Training Table Eat three to five different colours of fruit and/or vegetables in one day. Which did you like the best? Why? Hide and Find Hide an object or toy around the house. Keep a diary to show how much they grow. Fire safety poster Look on line at examples of fire safety posters. Design your own poster to warn Reception children of the dangers of fire. Measuring Measure the arm length of all your family members. Record your results. What’s my number? Think of a number between 1 and 100. Your partner needs to ask you questions to find out your number. e.g. Is it odd? Is it more than 20? Birds eggs Three birds lay some eggs. Each bird laid an Odd number of eggs.
