Presentation transcript:

Resources A resource is anything that people can use. The earth has many resources.

Soil Much of the land on Earth is covered with soil.

Soil is used on a farm to grow plants and raise animals that people use for food.

Trees Wood from trees is used to make houses, buildings, and furniture. Trees can also give us food like apples, oranges, and pecans. Many trees grow in forests.

Water All living things must have water to drink. Some plants and animals live in water.

Air People, plants, and animals must have clean air to live.

Oil Oil comes from under the ground. People use oil to heat their homes and cook their meals. We also use oil to make gasoline for our cars.

Plants Plants give us food to eat and cotton for our clothes.

Animals Animals such as cows and sheep give us food, leather for shoes, and wool for clothing.

Protecting Our Resources It is important to take care of our resources by keeping our air, land, and water clean.
