The Types of Cough By : Anti Cough

The Types of Cough Cough is basically divided into two types: non-productive cough and productive cough.

Productive cough Called productive cough if the current cough accompanied by sputum discharge, also called cough with phlegm. Coughing up phlegm is a cough accompanied by mucus. Sputum that can come out of the nose and sinuses can also from the throat and lungs.

Some conditions that cause cough with phlegm Virus infection. Is normal if you cough up phlegm when suffering from common cold. Usually caused by phlegm in the throat. Infections. Infection that attacks the lungs and upper respiratory tract can cause coughing. Cough with phlegm could be a sign of bronchitis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. "Mucus will come out with a cough. E.g.  Tuberculosis. People suffering from tuberculosis (TB) are prohibited to throw phlegm anywhere, because sputum contains TB bacteria and can spread it to others."

Chronic lung disease. Cough with phlegm could also indicate a chronic lung disease. When stomach acid rises into the throat and cause coughing, especially during sleep. Colds. Fluid from the nose and then down into the throat and cause coughing. Smoking. Cigarette smoke coming into the respiratory tract would stimulate the mucus and can cause coughing up phlegm.

Non-productive cough Non-productive cough it’s dry and does not contains phlegm so often also called a dry cough. Dry cough occurs because of the sensitivity due to the vibrating feathers inside the throat, for example if there is an allergy. Dry cough usually appears towards the end of flu symptoms or irritation due to dust and cigarette smoke.

Some conditions that cause a dry cough Virus infection. After recovered from the common cold, usually followed by the appearance of dry cough for several weeks. Allergy. Dry cough followed by sneezing. Drugs. High blood pressure drugs can also cause a dry cough. Asthma. Chronic dry cough may be symptoms of mild asthma. Closure of the respiratory tract by a foreign object. Bronchospasme. Dry cough at night that suddenly, usually caused by spasm or narrowing of the bronchus in the channel by comparing irritation.

Summary Cough illness in general easy to attack humans during the turn of the season, especially when there are sudden changes in air temperature from hot to cold. Conditions of the body that are less fit are also prone to cough.  Careful evaluation of general health conditions can help determine the cause of cough. Remember, the cough is a symptom of the disease.
