Switch to SQL Authentication Determine your Server name Determine Database name Run the batch file named “Switch to multiuser.bat” downloaded from the knowledge base article on the computer that had the DEMO installed to it. Once run, please test to see if it worked by logging on the Server/main computer using SQL authentication
How to Find Server Name Please ask the customer to right click on “My Computer” (or Computer with Windows Vista) and select Properties With Windows Vista it will show the Windows version and also the computer name at the bottom With Windows XP you will need to click on the Computer name tab.

How to Find Database Name To determine you server name login into ESC and go to Help About and read the database name. NOTE: Only the server can login as (LOCAL)\ESC
Batch File To switch to Multi-user you will need to run a batch file which can be downloaded from knowledge base article: http://kb.desco-soft.com/index.php?action=article&id=502&relid=17 This batch file will need to be downloaded to the Customer’s ESC Server/Main computer and can only be run on that computer. The batch file should be run with ESC closed. On a computer with Windows Vista you must right click the batch file and run as Administrator. Once run, please test to see if it worked by logging in the Server/main computer using SQL authentication
Login 1 Once the batch file has been run then open ESC and go to File Open Company You will see the default screen to the right
Login 2 To login please replace (LOCAL) with the Server name Uncheck the box for Login using Windows authentication Click on the drop down menu for Database name and select ESCSample or your new database Click OK

Possible solutions for errors If you do not see the ESCSample in the drop menu then type in ESCSample and try to login again
Possible solutions for errors If you get an error message that you cannot connect to the database then cancel the error message and click on the drop down menu for Network Library and change named pipes to Winsock TCP/IP and login again
Windows Firewalls XP You can also ask the customer to turn off any third party firewalls they may have Please turn off the firewall on both the server and the new workstation To turn off the Windows firewall in Windows XP go to Start Control Panel Windows Firewall Select Off and click on OK
Windows Firewalls Vista To turn off the firewall on Windows Vista go to Start Control Panel (classic view) Windows Firewall Select “Turn Windows Firewall on or off” and then select off and then allow.
