European Mobility Portal

Recruitment: Status Published positions in physics world, CERN courier and physics journal, EURAXESS (by partners) 500 posters have been distributed First deadline for applications: 31st Jan 2017 All files will be made available via VOCAL Feedback via google table All contracts need to start before 31.12.2017 – target 1.10.2016 for all Fellows

Interviews and selection board in case several people with the same qualifications.

Who can be recruited ? Researchers can have any nationality May not have more than 4 years of relevant professional experience and may not be in possession of PhD Soon-to-be-Postdocs possible, but rather not advisable Fellows may not have resided or carried out their normal activities in country where contractor is based for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior start date of contract Details may require careful checks !!

Information on our web page Need to provide this information !

Start of Appointment Standard information form to coordinator, setup Fellow in EC portal Declaration of Conformity within 20 days (familiarize yourself with ECAS!) Discussion of Career Development Plans Induction to Marie Curie rules and regulations Suggestion: Carefully address Fellow status !

What they get (min.) contract conditions defined by MC rates Full time employment Employment contracts to be given Researchers to be made aware of the network, their rights and duties, appointment conditions, etc.

End of the Appointment Researchers are requested to complete a confidential questionnaire with: Background, career plans, etc Nationality, age, gender, discipline Assessment of the time spent in the network and of training received

Project Implementation Good contact with Fellows Important to establish a good contact with Fellows; Useful to have a neutral person for mediation between Fellow and Supervisor, if required Commission policy: Fellow is king / queen !! Worked well: Project info-package: Contract and annexes Social security issues Career developement plan Follow the Charter for Researchers

Career Development Plan Personal Career Development Plan needs to be established... Means a plan established by each researcher recruited for our ITN Suggest to update every 6 months – very good basis for audits and/or reports. Useful to remind Fellows (and supervisors)

Consortium Agreement Mandatory Key questions (budget, IP, etc.) already defined through Annex I to GA We set this up based on the DESCA model contract Will email final version now, return signed version (electronically) by the end of next week.

Election of Steering Committee

Role Definition (proposal) The Steering Committee is a body of senior scientists chaired by the Coordinator and supported by the Management Office. It is responsible of the implementation of the overall network strategy and takes all decisions day to day concerning the network. It includes the Coordinator, as well as representatives elected by the network Parties. They should be representatives of Parties which are Beneficiaries regarding their commitments under the Grant Agreement. They will be elected during the first meeting of the Supervisory Board. The Steering Committee assists the Coordinator in his duties and is responsible for the operation of the whole Project. This includes the monitoring of the progress of all the activities within the Project network and the communication between the different Parties.
