History of OERs “Learning object” term coined in 1994 by Wayne Hodgins Idea digital materials for easy reuse in a wide range of teaching and learning situations- Open source “Open Education Resources” term adopted by educators and instructional designers Long history to OER over 20 years Technology advances have supported expansion OER concept to include collaboration, creation, reuse, revision, etc.
