WHY DOES IT MATTER? John 7:37-39 (Promise)

37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and

drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not

been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

HOW CAN I TELL? (Characteristics)

We live a Christ-like sensitive life. Romans 8:4-6

4 In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but

according to the Spirit according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but

those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is

death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

We live a Christ-like sensitive life. Christ-like character is being produced. Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control;

against such things there is no law.

We are marked by liberty and freedom. 1 Corinthians 3:17

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

WHAT STOPS THE FLOW? (Conditions)

When He is grieved. Ephesians 4:30

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

When He is grieved. When He is quenched. 1 Thessalonians 5:19

30 Do not quench the Spirit.
