Leading Worship

Leading worship is not It is not being able to play an instrument or sing. It is not about you and what you can or cannot do. It is not a show or a performance It is not something that man can orchestrate or plan on his own.

Peter Wagner Definition “the special ability that God gives to certain members of the Body of Christ to accurately discern the heart of God for a particular public worship service, to draw others into an intimate experience of God during the worship time and to allow the Holy Spirit to change directions and emphases as the service progresses.”

Being able to accurately discern the heart of God.

"We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak."

Leading worship requires Putting aside all of our own agendas and plans “Many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21

“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.'” James 4:13-15

Remove the fear of the unknown and lay it at the foot of the cross “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,” 1 John 4:18

“Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, he will come to save you.” Isaiah 35:3-4

Be Still and Wait for His Instructions “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
