Transition Tidbits The purpose of all the transition events is to make the move from home to preschool or preschool to kindergarten as smooth and easy as possible. We also seek to increase parent awareness of the elementary school processes while helping parents be advocates for their children.

Literacy Lingo Perfect Attendance Math Everyday!! New Head Start parents should have participated in a home visit, and Parent Orientation meeting. These meetings introduce the family to Head Start and help to prepare the child for preschool. Returning parents should continue the learning process for their child by reminding them about bus safety, the BEE book and attending preschool every day. Literacy Lingo The McCracken County Public Library is an excellent resource for books and other materials that will help introduce your child to Kindergarten. Take your child to the library and check a few books or read a few there. Consider Dr. Seuss books! They are favorites and help introduce children to the art of rhyming. Classic nursery rhymes such as excellent choices too. Perfect Attendance Brighton D. Logan A. Gabrielle H. Chanelle H. Si’Mya P. Nalani L. LaKenzi A. Alana T. Mason B. Elijah W. CaSean C. Briale C. Our children are learning about sets.  Collections of objects can be sorted into sets based on their attributes, or characteristics, such as color, shape, or type of object.   Objects can be sorted in different ways and sets can be compared and ordered.  You can help your child at home learn about sets using coins, toy cars, rocks, m&m’s,  silverware, or other object s around the house.  Encourage your child to sort objects into sets then ask them why they sorted the objects in that way.  Use the words sets and sorting as you work with your child. Math Everyday!!
