Drained, packaged, and shipped PCB transformer oil from 66 process buildings PCB Transformers. Began removal of R-114 refrigerant from the gaseous diffusion plant for safer deposit removal activities. Initiated the Deactivation of the C-400 facilities. Ten systems that will remove uranium deposits from the gaseous diffusion plant, the first of their kind, are on site. Completed D&D of 11 facilities to support footprint reduction. Completed SWMU 1 deep soil mixing to remove TCE contamination from soil.
Fissile Deinventory Developed program to handle fissile material as part of the fissile deinventory project. Over 100 people were trained to safely remove fissile material in facilities that have ceased operations. Almost 230 pieces of fissile waste from the C-720 Maintenance and Stores building have been removed. 162 total containers of waste have been generated.
Waste Management FY16 Waste Management Dispositioned more than 240,000 gallons of lube oil from the process buildings Dispositioned more than 94,000 gallons of PCB transformer oil from Building C-337 Developed four authorization limit packages for offsite treatment/disposition of lube oil and PCB transformer oil; and Performed a paper and site Audit of the Veolia Incinerator Facility in Port Arthur, Texas.
