Common Challenges If you are like most districts, you are struggling with: Large and Growing number of students with Behavior Challenges Capacity issue on creating and implementing intervention plans to these students Consistency around process and ability to serve these students Increased number of minority students with Behavior issues Growing expense of non-public school placement and agency support I talk to a lot of district from around the country and certainly in (your state). I hear a lot of the same challenges from everyone. Everyone talks about the increased number of behavior challenges. I’m talking the whole gamet, from minor classroom disruption, to severe special ed cases. When we talk about behavior and what it takes to effectively create and implement a quality intervention, Capacity is ALWAYS the biggest challenge people speak of. If you are talking about how long it takes to identify the function of the behavior, put strategies in place, and then implement, it can take weeks. I also hear a lot about consistency.. We have a good behavior person at one building, but not at others, or we don’t’ have a consistent process for building these plans. We teach people how to do this with our PD Workshops, and then utilizing the insights tool to be able to quickly and accurately assess and build a plan.
