LT- Today, I can make inferences about the phases of cell division by comparing, contrasting, and matching the images of mitosis with their descriptions. What is the purpose of mitosis? What happens with the chromosomes of the cell in each phase of mitosis?

What are the two types of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms? Mitosis and meiosis are the two forms of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms. Why does mitosis occur? Mitosis is necessary for growth and development (we were one cell and became an organisms with organs and organ systems), and for replacement of old worn out or lost cells.

What is the result of mitosis vs meiosis What is the result of mitosis vs meiosis? What cells is mitosis used for? Somatic cells (body cells) What cells is meiosis used for? Germ cells (sex cells/gametes)
