21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where months and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where months and vermin do not destroy and thieves do not break in and steal 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Ecclesiastes10:19 A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry, and money is the answer for everything.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

1 Timothy6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Acts20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself: “it is more blessed to give than to receive”

Romans15:26-27 26. For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord's people in Jerusalem. 27. They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.

Ephesians1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

1. GIVING IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD MATTHEW 28:18-20 1. GIVING IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD

Acts20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself: “it is more blessed to give than to receive”

Deuteronomy: 28. 1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God

1. GIVING IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD MATTHEW 28:18-20 1. GIVING IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD 2. GIVING IS REWARDED NOT THE GIFT

Proverbs19:1 "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed."

Acts9:36&37 36. In Joppa there was a disciple called Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. 37. About that time she became sick and died; her body was washed and placed upstairs.

Acts10:1-2 1.At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. 2. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.

Acts10:3-4 3. One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, "Cornelius!" 4. Cornelius stared at him in fear. "What is it, Lord?" he asked. The angel answered, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.

1. GIVING IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD MATTHEW 28:18-20 1. GIVING IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD 2. GIVING IS REWARDED NOT THE GIFT 3. GIVING IS ALWAYS SELFLESS

2 Corinthians 8:2-4 2. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4. they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord's people.

2 Corinthians8:5&7 5. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. 7. But since you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you-----see that you also excel in this grace of giving
